inRoute 8.3: Address Scanning

inRoute 8.3 has been released, adding a new option to scan addresses with your device’s camera using Apple’s Live Text feature. Other minor updates have also been made to keep inRoute running smoothly on all platforms. 

Address Scanner

On the iOS Search screen, tap the new camera button in the search field, and a preview from your camera will appear.  Then, center an address in the camera preview, hold the camera steady, and the address will be highlighted. You can then tap the blue “Insert” button to search for that address, or if there are multiple addresses in your image (like in the image above), you can tap a different address to highlight it instead. 

Other Minor Updates

Improvements have been made to the save dialog to prevent duplicate saved copies when saving routes and pins together in folders. Additionally,  a couple bugs were fixed running on macOS Sonoma, including a problem searching on the Contacts screen.
