inRoute 8.6: Ratings and Open Hours

inRoute 8.6 has been released, with a new option to show ratings, open hours and other information for businesses and points of interest.

Ratings and Open Hours

You can now view place information from Apple Maps directly within inRoute, including ratings, open hours and more (requires iOS 18 or macOS Sequoia). When you select a business or point of interest on the map and show its details, a thumbs up button will appear on the toolbar whenever information like ratings or hours are available.

While this information cannot be made available automatically for pins you had previously added to the app in older versions of inRoute (the thumbs up button won’t appear), you can update an existing map pin by searching for that place again and selecting its search result. The existing map pin will then be updated and continue showing updated place information in the future.

Other Updates

Additional voices can now be used during navigation, including both Enhanced and Premium voices installable through the iOS Settings app (see inRoute’s “Speech” button during navigation for more information). Finally, minor improvements to CarPlay and Search have been made, including the ability to more easily search nearby places anywhere on the map.
